Mrs. Wine snob and I went on a Valentine’s Day date to a very elegant chocolatier called Julia Baker. It is a very Upper East Side Manhattan looking place all mirrored and sort of girly. We had some chocolate and then some more chocolate. And then had some French sipping chocolate. The thick luxurious kind with a dollop of fresh chantilly. The only thing that could make it better…champagne!!!. We ordered a bottle of Piquittos Muscato from Spain, which could not have been a better choice. We tasted a couple of others and all were too sweet and overpowering for the desserts in which we were about to indulge. It was sweet like a Muscato should be, but when sparkling it dances like Salome and teases, and it makes the chocolate stand up and take notice. This one gets a romantic 4 stars.
