John Wine Snob says:
Early Sunday morning on a whim I stopped by the home of friends, Gene and Dawn who live nearby. They have a pool and it was world Skinny Dip Weekend, so I convinced them to celebrate the holiday. Gene cooked breakfast and Dawn pulled out a bottle of Clos Du Bois Chardonnay 2011 from the Russian River Valley. It was only 8:30 in the morning, but it seemed necessary. I opened it on their Provencal tablecloth, and immediately I smelled the perfume of peaches. It was perfect for a Sunday morning breakfast that started with Santa Claus Melons. And ended with eggs sliced prk and beans ala Gene. It was very light for a Chardonnay and had a little smoke it in and not tom much Oak. There were some nice layers of other grassy and herby flavors as well. There is nothing like a naked swim and a nice bottle of wine. This one gets 3.5 stars.
