Trader Joe’s Petit Reserve Semillon 2011

John Wine snob says:The checker at Trader Joe’s told my wife that the Sémillon Petit Reserve 2011 at $5.99 was really good. I am always a bit skeptical when a checker tells me that, but Trader Joe’s checkers are usually fairly  knowledgeable.  She bought it and it sat in the refrigerator for about a week  and we kept missing the opportunity. Finally I stir fried a giant load of vegetables one evening and we opened it. The checker was not kidding. It is a pretty nice wine.. it is a little more complicated that its price would indicate. Vinted and bottled by JBA Cellars  for TJ’s it has a nice  bitterness from the lemon rind flavors and has quite a bit of not quite ripe white melon in it as well. So let’s call it a weak 3 stars.
