Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Carla’s Reserve

John Wine Snob says:
When I was a kid we used to ride our bikes around a huge industrial waste site. One spot was a large pond of some sort of thick black oily liquid. We used to like to stand and watch it because every few minutes a giant bubble would appear with a loud cartoon like “glug.” Nice place for kids to hang out, huh?
I was reminded of that when I opened  bottle of Carla’s Reserve Contra Costa  2006 Zinfandel from Rosenblum Cellars. I poured it and found it to be thick and unctuous. The color was exquisite and the aroma was its equal. Lots of viscous really ripe peaches and plums glugged around  on the tongue. This $28. Wine was all the fun of hanging around a toxic waste dump only with very beautiful aromas and no hair falling out or blurred vision later. It is a little hard to tell, but yes, I really liked this wine.
I am giving it four stars.
