John Wine Snob says:Ya wanna nice inexpensive red that will go with lots of things and maybe even please your friends? The Chateau Haut Blaignon 2010, a Bordeaux, is not a bad choice. I had it with some scallops, calamari, and other slimy critters, and it was not overpowering to the seafood. I think it is, on the other hand, assertive enough that I would also have it with any kind of red meats as well. It had a kind of dry currant/cranberry tartness. It is a very well mannered wine that has a definite presence, but does not dominate. Ok, so it is not great, but for simple drinkability at $6.99 a bottle you can’t go wrong.
I will give it a weak 3 stars.
