John Wine Snob says:
The Greeks gave us democracy. They gave us our western taste in aesthetics. They have given us beautiful people, and incredible food, but man the Greeks cannot make wine. One of the acceptable ones from Greece is Apelia red. There is no vintage. It is a nice simple table wine That is perfect with whatever the Greeks are serving that evening. My wife and I went to our simple neighborhood Cypriot place called the Cyprus Grill yesterday evening. Some avgolimono soup and lamb souvlaki on a warm summer night are enhanced by the Apelia. It is light and a bit fruity, and I am really happy it is only $5.99 a glass. I have nothing negative to say about it and nothing great. It is just drinkable and nice for the occasion.
I will give it two stars.
