Affentalers Valley Riesling

I kind of like a really good Riesling now and then in the summer and this is it.  Affentaler’s Valley of the Monkey Baden Riesling has that wonderfully flowery flavor that one expects from a German Riesling. It is just made for pork or chicken on the grill. I had it with some chevre cheese which was really a nice complement, but then I had a little French Bleu which overpowered the wine. The French should have thought of that during the occupation, but I think the Germans must have brought their own beer and sausage.


The Bottle is kind of cool.
